Paris Saint-Germain footballer Ousmane Dembele has been named the best player in French Ligue 1 for the second season in a row.
This is the tenth consecutive season that the award for the best player in Ligue 1 has gone to a PSG player.
Alexandre Lacazette was the last player not to play for PSG, having won the award while playing for Lyon in 2015. The award was not presented for the 2019/20 season, which was shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Dembele was a star in PSG's title-winning campaign last season with 21 goals and won the Ballon d'Or, but has had a smaller impact this season due to injuries. He has scored just ten goals and has been used less frequently by coach Luis Enrique, starting just nine league games.
His performances were arguably more influential in the Champions League, where PSG reached their second consecutive final where they will play Arsenal on May 30th.
Dembele's teammate Desiree Due was named the league's best young player for the second season in a row, while Pierre Sage won the best coach award while leading Lens. The award for best goalkeeper in the French league went to Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser.
