Asia is under the feet of Nebojša Jovović, the most trophy-winning Montenegrin coach.
His SC Kuwait won the AFC Challenge Cup, one of three competitions under the patronage of the continent's largest football confederation.
The final match, at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait, featured real drama and a match filled with twists and turns, with Svay Rieng from Cambodia only losing in overtime - 4:3.
For Jovović, who has been coaching in the Middle East for a decade, promoting himself and his country, Montenegro, in football, this is the incredible tenth trophy in his foreign career - the fifth with Kuwait, and the first continental one. That's why it's probably the biggest.
"Thank you to everyone, the players, the fans, I think we deserved this trophy. I said before the match that we were unstoppable, we didn't stop even after 0:2 at the start. It wasn't easy, but we showed quality, heart and character and celebrated against an excellent team, who caused us a lot of problems and pushed us to the limit. What do I feel? Nothing yet, I'm filled with emotions," said Jovović after the match.
It didn't start well, because the "blue swords" from Cambodia, who played in the Challenge Cup final last year (and lost in overtime), were already leading 2-0 in the 9th minute, shocking the fans and players of Kuwait.
The "Brigadiers" were considered favorites before the match, but Asia is big and unpredictable in football.
The "swords" played like in a trance and stabbed the hosts twice, after great actions and long-range missiles. The Portuguese Thiago Alves and the Japanese Fuji scored.
This introduction was so shocking to Jovović's team that the guests had another chance, they hit the post, and could have scored a third goal.
The Kuwaiti players needed to gather themselves throughout the first half, they only started to threaten towards the end of that period, and then they achieved a recognizable game.
And just eight minutes were enough for them to equalize - Moroccan Berama and Bahraini national team player Marhon scored in the 48th and 56th minutes to make it 2:2.
A real fight broke out then, Kuwait rose up, but so did the guests, who took a new lead in extra time, with another great shot from distance - scored by another Brazilian, Silveira.
However, just three minutes later, a fantastic goal for the home team - Egyptian Amr Ahmed Abdelfahat scored a goal from the edge of the penalty area for 3:3.
It turned out that goal was crucial, because the second overtime saw the domino effect of Jovović's team and the final decision - symbolically, Jusuf Naser, the only "local" out of seven scorers on both sides, scored a brilliant goal in the 110th minute.
The big celebration of the home players and fans could begin.
This is Jovović's tenth trophy, with an 11th coming soon. The championship resumes in four days after a long break, and Kuwait needs four points from the remaining four rounds to mathematically win a new title.
