Pep Guardiola left Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku and Ryan Sharkey on the bench, but that didn't mean he gave up on the championship race with Arsenal.
Manchester City easily defeated Crystal Palace (3:0) and closed in on leaders Arsenal, minus two, with two rounds remaining in the Premier League.
Palace are now practically the last hope for the Citizens to leapfrog the Gunners, as Oliver Glasner's team will host the Gunners in the final round. It is hard to expect them to falter against the relegated Burnley at home before then.
City dominated from the start, but it took a touch of magic from Phil Foden to "open up" the London team - his backheel found Antoine Semenya, who scored for 1-0.
The second goal came after a nice move - Joško Gvardiol brilliantly found Foden, who passed to Omar Marmuš, and the Egyptian scored in the second match in a row.
City slowed down a bit in the second half, but the third goal arrived in the final minutes - Šerki came on and immediately showed what a master he is. The Frenchman pulled the ball back brilliantly, and then assisted Savinj even more beautifully.
