Former Sutjeska coach Dejan Jelenić successfully defended his thesis on the topic "Analysis of work, management, organization, professional work in the first team and youth department of the Azerbaijani football club Karabag" and received a Uefa Pro license.
Jelenić spent ten days in Qarabag last winter as part of his internship for the UEFA Pro license. After receiving his license, he continues to educate himself continuously through the tactical periodization he uses in his work, which is the basis for a training model and is widely used in European coaching circles, especially among Portuguese coaches.
Jelenić was the coach of Sutjeska from October last year to March this year. He succeeded Milija Savović on the bench, won the autumn title with Sutjeska, and parted ways with the club in early March, at a time when the Nikšić team was four points ahead of Mornar and Dečić in the leading position.
Jelenić was previously an associate of Milija Savović at Sutjeska (title won in 2022), Arsenal from Tivat and Al-Ittihad from Tripoli.
He was also an associate of Vladimir Vermezović at Buducnost, he was the coordinator and led the younger categories of the "blues", and he collaborated with Božo Vuković in the first team of Dečić.
He was educated at Sporting Lisbon, PSV Eindhoven, Ajax, CSKA and Lokomotiv Moscow, Olympiacos, Dinamo Zagreb, he spent time at the Arsenal academy, then in Munich, Cardiff, Bayern Munich and Qarabag.
