Slott: I have every reason to believe I will be Liverpool manager next season

Liverpool football coach Arne Slott said he has reason to believe he will be on the bench for the Anfield club next season.

"I don't decide on it myself, but I have every reason to believe that I will be Liverpool manager next season. Firstly, I am contractually bound to the club, and secondly, judging by the discussions we are having," Slott said at a press conference ahead of the match against Aston Villa in the Premier League, British media reported.

Reporters also asked Slot if he was involved in planning the team for next season.

"Plans have been made and discussions are ongoing between the club and some of the players. I'm involved in that too, if that's what you want to know," Slot said.

Liverpool are currently fourth in the Premier League table with two games to go and are in a good position to secure a place in next season's Champions League. However, Slott is facing increasing pressure and his popularity among Liverpool fans is declining due to the team's failure to defend the Premier League title.

"If a manager or a club doesn't have the best season, it's always discussed. It's not just a situation in Liverpool. It's the new reality in football. It's not for me to judge the people who judge me. They have every right to their opinion," Slott said.

"In these modern times, everyone can share their opinion. This used to happen 10-15 years ago, but back then you did it in a pub and not everyone could hear. Now everything is public," he added.

Liverpool will host Aston Villa tomorrow at 9:00 PM, in the 37th round of the Premier League, while they will host Brentford in the final round on May 24th.
