The denouement of the crisis in Buducnost and the announcement of the end of chaos: Mujović dissolves the Board of Directors

Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović will dissolve the Board of Directors of the Budućnost Football Club today, "Vijesti" has learned.

This should finally put an end to the devastating organizational, financial, and ultimately performance situation of the largest Montenegrin club, which has practically turned into a scandal.

The Budućnost football club, as a joint-stock company, is majority-owned by the Capital City (99,8 percent of the shares), and Mujović, as the mayor of Podgorica, represents the founder - or rather the owner - of the club.

The decision to dissolve the Board of Directors should be made by the club's Assembly, in order to comply with the formal and legal element.

According to the club's statute, if one member of the Board of Directors resigns, a new Board of Directors is elected.

Considering that Boris Spalević, until recently the president and member of the Board of Directors, resigned two days ago, the formal requirement for electing a new Board of Directors has been met.

The question is whether the other members of the Budućnost Board of Directors - Ninoslav Kaluđerović, Mileta Šćepanović, Nikola Marković, Duško Globarević - who formed the majority (the Board of Directors within the Board of Directors), made all the important decisions in the club in recent months - and almost forced Spalević to leave - knew about this article of the club's statute.

Another member of the Board of Directors, Fedja Smatlik, reportedly resigned today, so the truncated composition of the Board of Directors on paper now consists of only the aforementioned four, along with the representative of "Barbarians" Emin Isic.

And if they don't want to leave on their own - Kaluđerović, Šćepanović, Marković and Globarević - they should be stripped of their powers tomorrow, according to the club's statute.

Apart from them, and sports director Nenad Maslovar, almost all sports and executive managers have left the club in the past ten days: executive director Predrag Kažić, who was dismissed, Spalević, who left on his own, and finally coach Miodrag Božović Grof.
