Another member of the Board of Directors of Budućnost has resigned, Movement for Podgorica: The entire Board of Directors should resign

The Movement for Podgorica issued a statement stating that "after a series of poor results and the current state of FK Budućnost, it is necessary for the entire board of directors of the club to resign and take responsibility for the situation the club is in."

The deputy mayor for the Movement for Podgorica is Nađa Ljiljanić, and her brother Feđa Smatlik sat on the Board of Directors.

Today, as we learned, he resigned and took responsibility, just as Board of Directors President Boris Spalević and coach Miodrag Božović Grof did before him.

As the "last of the Mohicans", those who still hold on to their seats, the remaining board members are Ninoslav Kaluđerović, Mileta Šćepanović, Nikola Marković and Duško Globarević, and sports director Nenad Maslovar.

"Vijesti" announced today that Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović - as the owner's representative - will dissolve the entire Board of Directors tomorrow.

And formally and legally it must be dissolved, because according to the club's statute, if one member of the Board of Directors resigns, a new one must be elected.

"We believe that this is the least we can all do in front of the political entities that make up the government and participate in making decisions related to the functioning of FK Budućnost. Responsibility towards the largest Montenegrin club must be above any party interest, calculation or individual function," the Movement for Podgorica announced.

The Podgorica club is facing an unprecedented organizational, financial and results crisis, the club is in disarray with a record two and a half million euros in donations from the city treasury, and the decisions made by the majority of the Board of Directors in the last few months are, to say the least, scandalous.

"FK Budućnost is not an ordinary sports team. Buducnost is a symbol of Podgorica, the emotion of generations, a club that represents the identity of this city and a sacred place towards which we must all have a special relationship, seriousness and respect. That is precisely why we must not allow the club to be managed without a clear vision, sporting authority and the results expected from a name like Buducnost," it states.

"The Movement for Podgorica believes that the club's Assembly must elect professional and proven sports workers as soon as possible, people with knowledge, experience and authority in football, who can restore stability, trust and a winning spirit to the club. FK Budućnost should be led by those who understand sport, responsibility and the greatness of the emblem they represent. It is time for serious changes, responsibility and a new beginning worthy of the name FK Budućnost," the Movement for Podgorica announced.
