Former English footballer David Beckham has become Britain's first billionaire sportsman, the Sunday Times announced today in its latest list of the richest people in the UK for 2026.
The combined fortune of Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham is estimated at £1,185 billion, making them the second-richest sports figures, behind the family of former Formula One boss Bernie Anklestone, whose fortune is estimated at £1 billion.
The former England captain is now a co-owner of Inter Miami, considered the most valuable franchise in the American MLS league with an estimated value of $1,45 billion. Beckham, who was knighted last year, also earns a large income as an ambassador for brands such as Adidas and Hugo Boss.
Victoria Beckham's wealth comes largely from the fashion company she built after her worldwide fame as part of the Spice Girls.
