The Party of European Progress (SEP) asked the Mayor of Podgorica, Saša Mujović, in a statement on the basis of which he, as the host of this city, selected the members of the Board of Directors (BOD) of FK Budućnost.
Four days ago, president Boris Spalević resigned from Buducnost, followed by coach Miodrag Božović and board member Feđa Smatlik. Ninoslav Kaluđerović, Mileta Šćepanović, Nikola Marković and Duško Globarević, as well as sports director Nenad Maslovar, are refusing to resign from the board.
We are publishing the statement of the Party of European Progress in its entirety:
"The resignations of the members of the Board of Directors of FK Budućnost confirm the chaos, ignorance, irregularities, irregularities and political corruption that we have been pointing out for days.
The announced belated reaction of Mayor Saša Mujović is an attempt to mask an unprecedented political attack on a sports club, the worst results in the club's history, and the waste of public money and resources.
It is time, Mr. Mujović, for you, as the first man in the capital city to finance FK Budućnost with millions of euros of citizens' money, to finally settle accounts.
You are obliged to answer the questions we have already asked you, to the citizens of Podgorica and to the fans and admirers of FK Budućnost, which stem from the key question: On what basis did you, as the mayor and host of this city, choose the members of the Board of Directors of FK Budućnost? Tell the public openly and without hesitation: Were the criteria their football knowledge and experience and proven successes in the field of economics and management, or was it a classic party and nepotism indoctrination of professionally inadequate individuals to parasitize on the backs of the citizens of Podgorica?
This scandal has exposed the most devastating fact – in the Capital, the principle is not expertise, but the division of party spoils.
You, as a person in the highest hierarchical position in the city, are responsible as the creator or at least the patron of the infiltration of party ignoramuses and pests. Instead of controlling the processes in the city as a good host, imposing order and preventing this disaster in time, which you were obliged to do, you opportunistically assigned yourself the role of a silent observer of the processes in FK Budućnost. By doing so, you have shown all citizens by example the matrix of the functioning of the city government. According to the same matrix, city enterprises have been turned into private pawns of political parties. Instead of the principle of professionalism, you have introduced the principle of party spoils. Management positions in the Capital serve only to satisfy the insatiable appetites of your party, its coalition partners and members of each other's families.
While you were silent, your chosen ones were destroying both the budget and the reputation of FK Budućnost.
As a leading figure in the Capital, which is the majority owner of FK Budućnost, you are obliged to know, and as a politician in high office, you are obliged to answer the citizens:
1. Who approved fabulous contracts and salaries of 10-15 thousand euros, while the club was at the bottom in terms of results?
2. Who is responsible for UEFA penalties?
3. Who is responsible and who was sanctioned and how for the loss of the European license and the fine of 90 thousand euros due to the amateurism of the administration that you approved?
4. Who approved 120 thousand euros for preparations where FK Buducnost did not have adequate sparring partners?
5. Who is responsible for why Malaga was chosen for the preparations, where the costs are 50 thousand euros higher than the Antalya offer?
6. Who paid the penalties to private companies?
7. Who is responsible for not honoring the contract with the Volcano company, which cost FK Budućnost a penalty of 12 thousand euros?
8. Who is the "secret investor" with whom you are or have been negotiating the sale of one of the most important symbols of Podgorica?
Mayor Mujović, the hiding behind Boris Spalević is over. The financial reports of both FK Budućnost and all city companies must be completely exposed and presented in detail to the councilors and the entire public. They will obviously have to be presented to the Prosecutor's Office anyway.
"The time for arrogance is over. The time for reckoning has come," the Party of European Progress said.
