Real Madrid defeated Sevilla 1-0 away tonight in the penultimate, 37th round match of the Spanish La Liga. The winning goal for the Madrid team was scored by Vinicius Junior in the 15th minute. Real Madrid is in second place with 83 points and has previously lost its chance to win the title, while Sevilla is in 13th place with 43 points.
In the final round, Real Madrid welcomes Athletic Bilbao, and Sevilla plays host to Celta.
Atletico Madrid won 1-0 at home against Girona, with the only goal scored by Ademola Lukman in the 21st minute.
Atletico took advantage of Villarreal's away defeat at Rayo Vallecano (0:2) and tied with third-placed Villarreal (69 points each).
Girona fell into the relegation zone with the defeat, in 18th place, with 40 points.
Mallorca is also in the relegation zone, taking 19th place with 39 points, after a loss away to Levante (0:2), and Real Oviedo (29 points) was previously relegated from La Liga, having been defeated at home by Alaves tonight with a score of 0:1.
In the final round, the fight for survival will be between Levante, Osasuna and Elche (42 points), Girona (40) and Mallorca (39).
It will also be interesting in the fight for the last place in the Europa League, or the Conference League.
Celta, after a draw away against Athletic Bilbao (1:1), is in sixth place with 51 points, while seventh-placed Getafe, after a defeat away to Elche (0:1), missed the chance to reach the Europa League qualifying position.
Getafe is in seventh place with 48 points, and Rayo Vallecano (47 points) and Valencia (46 points), who defeated Real Sociedad 4:3 on the road tonight, remain in the fight for a place in the Conference League.
Real Sociedad previously secured a place in the Europa League by winning the Copa del Rey.
In the final match of the 37th round tonight at 9:15 PM, Barcelona and Betis meet. Barcelona previously secured their 29th league title, while Betis became the fifth team to qualify for the Champions League.
