Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ousmane Dembele will undergo treatment for a calf problem in his right leg, days ahead of the Champions League final, his club announced today.
The French footballer left the field on Sunday evening in the 27th minute of the match against Paris (1:2), in the final round of the French championship. Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique said after the match that he thought Dembele was substituted due to fatigue.
In a statement today, the French champions said the player was "taken out of the game as a precaution."
Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain will play in the Champions League final against Arsenal on May 30 at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.
Dembele was one of the team's best players last season, scoring 21 goals and winning the Ballon d'Or.
This season he has scored 10 goals and had seven assists in 22 league games.
He scored a goal in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich (1:1), and Paris Saint-Germain won the two-legged tie 6:5 on aggregate, so they will be fighting for their second consecutive European title at the end of the month.
