The last victory of Buducnost was recorded on April 8, when they defeated Jezero at home (2:0). It was also the last match in which the "blues" scored against their rivals. A series of six matches without a triumph or a goal was followed, so with two rounds remaining in the championship, Buducnost is in fifth place, three points ahead of Jezero, which is in the play-off zone.
"The Blues" are also within reach of Europe, but Petrovac is a big five points away. Nothing is over yet, and Budućnost tomorrow (20) against Bokelj pod Goricam, in the 35th round of the MeridianBet First Montenegrin Football League, wants to break the negative streak, and then wait for news from Bar, where Mornar welcomes Petrovac's team.
"We are facing another tough match in a row. Bokelj has its own calculations and is fighting for a place in the play-offs. They have won four points in their last two matches, and scored three goals against Arsenal in the previous round. This is a quality team, led well by Vladimir Savićević. In the last two matches, when it was the most difficult, they showed that they have potential and quality. The challenge is great. We are going for the win and we will do our best to win three crucial points," said Budućnost coach Srđan Radonjić in the match announcement.
The future must find a way to shake up the network of rivals.
"We have to look at ourselves, we have to try to score a goal. We have to be realistic - that's our first goal. I think that, with our crowd and the energy we had in the previous game, we should get three points," Radonjić is optimistic.
In case of victory, Buducnost will also pay special attention to the events at "Topolica". "The Blues" are hoping for a setback from Petrovac, so that in the last round, in a direct duel, at the "Mitar-Mićo Goliš" stadium, they can decide who will travel to Europe.
"We have to win both games. It's a lot of pressure and it's difficult. If we win this game, and I hope we will, then not everything depends on us. We will have to wait for the outcome of the match between Petrovac and Mornar. If we triumph and they don't win, then in the last round, in a direct duel, we would have to celebrate in Petrovac. Maybe someone should say the final, maybe that would be nice for football in Montenegro, if everything was decided in that game. Both teams deserved to decide their fate in the last round as far as Europe is concerned," said Radonjić.
The coach of Buducnost called on the fans to support the team.
"I invite the audience to come in as many numbers as possible. I hope for the same number as in the last game. I would like to thank our loyal Varvara fans, as well as the fans from the western and eastern stands. They showed that Budućnost loves each other, that Podgorica recognizes the moment. It is difficult for all of us because of the situation we are in, but the situation does not choose. That is why I agreed to help the club until the end of the season, to try to do everything in our power for the best possible placement," said Radonjić and once again referred to the previous duel, which was played on Saturday at Gorica against Mornar (0:0).
"The energy was at a much higher level than in previous games. And that's always the recipe under Gorica - for the team to be aggressive, to have to attack. We did that well against Mornar in certain situations. I think we were a balanced opponent, so a draw was realistic," concluded Srđan Radonjić.
