Andrija's first trophy in France and the first Cup for Lens in history: This moment has been awaited for more than a century

The cup is the crowning glory of the first season outside of Montenegro - Andrija Bulatović celebrates winning the Cup with Lens, the first in the history of the former French champion.

The Montenegrin gem did not play in the final against Nice (3:1), but played an important role during the season on the way to the Cup - he played three matches and scored two goals. He was also part of the campaign to qualify for the Champions League, having made 19 appearances and four assists in Ligue 1.

"I am proud that I, together with my teammates, was able to contribute to winning this trophy," Andrija wrote on Instagram.

Lens now finally has the Cup trophy, after becoming French champions in 1998 with Andrija's cousin and former goal scorer Ante Drobnjak.

The success of the club from the north of the country this season is best illustrated by the fact that Lens have won only one more trophy since the 1998 title until this Cup - the League Cup just a year after the championship.

"It is a great honor to be part of the history of such a great club. We have waited 120 years to experience this moment, thank you all," added Bulatović.

The season is over, and next year's best is yet to come - matches in the Champions League. As announced by French media, the Montenegrin midfielder will have an even bigger role.

"Red and gold, all together - let's continue to write history next season," concluded Bulatović.
