The last two participants of the Meridianbet 1. CFL in the 2026/2027 season will be determined by the results of the play-offs. The eighth-placed team from the first league competition, Jezero, will play against Iskra, the third-placed team from the Meridianbet 2. CFL, while the penultimate club of the domestic elite, Bokelj, will have the runner-up of the second league caravan, Grbalj, as a rival to maintain their status.
The first games are today, Jezero hosts at 19pm in Berane, while an hour later Bokelj hosts Grbalj at Vrmac. The second legs are on June 3rd. If Jezero does not retain its first league status, for the first time the northern football region will not have a representative in the domestic elite competition!
- We will not be sentimental, we are a team with a great atmosphere and togetherness. We are a young team that has progressed over time and we want to take advantage of the opportunity. And we have it, since coach Milan Radulović can count on the entire playing staff, and we are playing the second leg at our stadium where we have been achieving great results recently. We beat Grbalj 5:1, when they were the leaders, and we had two wins and a draw with the league winner Otrant Olimpik. So, we have quality and the bad series of Jezera, which has been in a results crisis for a long time, is also in our favor - says Iskra goalkeeper Tomaš Đurović.
After Otranto, Iskra was the team with the fewest goals conceded, Đurović proved his quality through all selections from pioneers to youth teams, and he also defended in Romania in the historic, first placement of one of our national football teams in the finals of European competitions.
- My goal is to bring Iskra into the elite, from which it was relegated at the moment of my arrival and win in 2023, all three domestic cadet trophies - the Championship and the Cup of Montenegro, and the UK FSCG-Centar Cadet Cup. The following season, I defended for the cadets, youth, and in the last round, I made my debut for Miloš Lakić's seniors in a victory over Lovćen, which also meant a place in the Montenegrin Cup. In it, we eliminated Otranto and then Buducnost in the quarterfinals, and I saved two penalties for the happiest moments of my career so far. Iskra needs to play with the best teams, the management did a great job and canceled all previous debts, and we have the conditions to be part of the first league caravan - says the 18-year-old goalkeeper.
He has another year of contract with Iskra.
- I don't think about the future at all because it's up to me to work and progress. I was lucky that Miloš Krstajić, who was my coach in the national team along with Vanja Pejović, has been following my career for a decade. In Iskra, I train with Dejan Perović, who is where I started playing football. I have unreserved trust in the management led by Risto Lakić, who will only decide on an offer in my best interest - says the 191-centimeter tall goalkeeper.
Đurović turns 19 in September, the goals are clear!
- To continue working and progressing. I had an excellent "base", professional work throughout my career with the national team goalkeeper Krleto (Mladen Krstajić, prim, a). Professional work also helped me never have problems with injuries, and I also know what I still need to improve. That is playing with my left foot, it is solid, but I know that I can and must do even better. Manuel Neuer made a revolution, a modern goalkeeper must be ready to be the third stopper, follow and understand the game. So I mostly look up to his style, and the goals are to continue to progress, earn the jersey of the youth and then the senior selection. Now at 18 years old, I left the youth team, and the youth is up to 21 years old and the competition, fortunately for our football, is strong - concluded Đurović.
