Brazil forward Neymar will miss the upcoming friendly match against Egypt as he continues to recover from a calf injury, the Brazilian Football Confederation has announced.
"Neymar will not travel with the delegation to Cleveland. He will remain in New Jersey and will undergo physical therapy as he intensifies his recovery program," the statement said.
The Brazilian national team's top scorer is out due to a calf strain.
Brazil and Egypt play a warm-up match in Cleveland on Saturday for the World Cup, which begins on June 11 in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Brazil's coaching staff hopes that the 34-year-old footballer will be ready for the first match of the World Cup, on June 13th against Morocco.
The five-time world champion will play in Group C with Haiti, Morocco and Scotland.
Egypt will play in Group G with Belgium, Iran and New Zealand.
