A point against Wales is in itself a great success for the Montenegrin women's football team.
At the City Stadium in Podgorica, it was 1:1, so our team still has a chance to survive in the B League of Nations.
Jasna Djokovic brought her a draw.
"A huge point, but above all, kudos to the girls. They gave their all in difficult weather and against a quality opponent, although it may not have looked that way today. We closed off all their approaches to the goal, they practically didn't create a single chance," said coach Mirko Marić.
The match against Albania is on June 9th in Shkodra - Montenegro needs a triumph by at least two goals.
"We were patient, disciplined, responsible and in the end we managed to score a goal. Throughout the game, we all felt that we could score a goal, if we were patient and waited for our moment. We waited for it and deservedly won this point. Tonight we should enjoy this result, and then start preparing for the duel with Albania in the morning. I hope that we can verify this point against Wales in the right way there," Marić emphasized.
