Kalezić leaves Sutjeska: I will remember the emotions, togetherness and moments we experienced together

Former Sutjeska footballer Vasko Kalezić is leaving Nikšić after two and a half seasons.

Kalezić arrived in Sutjeska in January 2024, and this season he won the title with the "blues".

During his time in Nikšić, the attacker was one of Sutjeska's best players, scoring 17 goals and providing 21 assists in 86 matches.

"Unfortunately, after two and a half years, the time has come to say goodbye. After the most beautiful moments I have experienced in my career, by the decision of the head of the coaching staff, I will no longer be a member of FK Sutjeska. I am leaving with my head held high and with immense pride, because I can honestly say that from the first day, until the last minute of the match against Jedinstvo from Bijelo Polje, I gave my maximum for the blue and white jersey," Kalezić wrote on Instagram and added:

"In these two and a half years, I have played 86 games, scored 17 goals and made 21 assists. The numbers will remain written down, but what I will remember much more than the statistics are the emotions, togetherness and moments we experienced together. Winning the trophy with Sutjeska holds a special place in my heart. I am also proud of the fact that we successfully represented the club on the European stage, bearing the names of Sutjeska and Nikšić," Kalezić emphasized.

He thanked the fans and coaches.

"I owe a lot of gratitude to the fans. Thank you to the audience from both stands, thank you to the West and thank you to the Dukes. In a time when football is often cruel and when criticism comes easily, my greatest reward was that I was almost always greeted with applause and support. I never felt a bad word, and the support you gave me gave me additional strength to be better from game to game. That is not forgotten. I want to thank the coaches I worked with during this period – Mijan, Miljan, Milija and Jelka, as well as their assistants. Each of them left a mark on my football journey and helped me progress as a player and as a person."

He also owes a lot of gratitude to the people at the club and his teammates.

"Thank you to all the management that was at the helm of the club during my time in Sutjeska. Thank you also to all the employees, without whom the club could not function the way it does. Special thanks to Branka, Joko, Bajo, director Vlatko and everyone else who made sure that we had the best possible working conditions and felt at home every day. Of course, thank you to my teammates. We shared the locker room, victories, defeats, joy and disappointments. Friendships were created that will last much longer than any contract and much further than the football field. I do not hide that I am sorry that I will not have the opportunity to play with this club in the Champions League qualifiers. As an athlete, you always want to be part of the biggest matches and the biggest challenges. However, football, just like life, is unpredictable. Just when you think everything is going well, you concede an own goal. But the game does not end then. It continues, and it is up to you to find the strength, raise your head and go for two new goals. I am leaving Sutjeska without bitterness, with gratitude and respect for everyone who was part of this journey. Nikšić will always have a special place in my heart, and I wish this club a lot of luck, trophies and European success in the years to come. Thank you for everything," Kalezić concluded.

This season, he played 36 games in all competitions for Nikšić, scoring four goals and providing the same number of assists.
