Tottenham Hotspur Football Club announced today that it has signed Argentine defender Marcos Senesio, who arrives at the London club as a free agent after parting ways with Bournemouth.
Senesi (29) will officially become a member of Tottenham on July 1, after receiving the necessary international clearance.
The Argentina international, who has made three appearances for the national team, decided to leave Bournemouth earlier this year after rejecting three offers to extend his contract.
"It's a special feeling to join a club like this. From the first moment they showed me how much they wanted me to be part of the project they're building. I can't wait to get started," Senesi said, as reported by the BBC.
He emphasized that he wants to help the club return to its rightful position and win trophies.
Senesi is Tottenham's second signing this summer, after Scottish left-back Andy Robertson arrived as a free agent from Liverpool.
The club also announced that Welsh defender Ben Davies has extended his contract for another year.
Coach Roberto De Zerbi assessed that Senesi will significantly strengthen the team's defense.
"He excels in teams that play possession-based football, reads the game very well and has the character needed to succeed in a demanding environment. I also like his desire to progress," said De Zerbi.
