Martinez agrees to join Juve, pending agreement between the two clubs

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has reached a verbal agreement with Juventus to join the club, Italian media reported today.

The Argentine goalkeeper is willing to accept a lower salary in order to move to the Turin club, and as reported by Sky Italia, he has reached an agreement on a three-year contract, until 2029.

He receives seven million euros per season at Aston Villa, and he agreed to a salary of 5,5 million euros in order for the transfer to happen.

Martinez believes a move to Juventus is a good next step in his career, after helping the Birmingham club win the Europa League.

However, in order for the transfer to take place, the two clubs need to agree on financial terms.

Juventus want to bring in the 33-year-old goalkeeper on favorable terms, and there is speculation that Aston Villa could ask for close to 15 million euros for him.

Some media outlets reported that Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti asked the club to sign Martinez, an experienced goalkeeper who has also distinguished himself on the international stage.

Juventus have also inquired about Alisson Becker, but Liverpool do not want to sell him.
