Marko Roganović took Petrovac to Europe and left: Montenegrin football is going in the right direction

Petrovac's historic season is behind them. They have secured a place in the Conference League qualifiers. For the second time in their history, and for the first time in 17 years, the "sky blues" will be part of European competitions.

One of the players who helped Zdravko Dragićević's team was Marko Roganović. He strengthened Petrovac in the mid-season and was one of the leaders in the team from the Montenegrin coast.

In an interview with "Vijesti", the 29-year-old defender said he was satisfied with the half-season.

"I am very satisfied with this half-season. As a team, we have shown quality, character and togetherness, especially in the most important matches. I think we deservedly achieved a historic qualification to Europe, which is a great success for the club and a reward for all the effort we have put in during the season. Of course, we can always do better, but we can be proud of what we have achieved," began Roganović.

Before arriving in Petrovac, he had an unplanned break. Namely, he was supposed to move from a club in Kosovo (Gnjilane) to a club in Serbia (Dubočica). However, he was prevented from doing so due to politics and relations between Serbia and Kosovo.

He took a break of almost half a year, which took him out of the competitive rhythm. However, despite the break, he quickly entered the Petrovac team's system and played 14 games.

"It is true that I had an unplanned break before arriving in Petrovac, which in a way threw me out of the competitive rhythm. However, upon arrival, I quickly fit into the team and managed to get back into the right rhythm. I am satisfied with my performances, I played 14 games in the 1st CFL and I am glad that I was able to contribute to the team's great success."

Arriving in Petrovac also marked Roganović's return to Montenegrin football after more than five years spent abroad.

"The league has become much more demanding and competitive, there are many young and quality players, and it is clear that the clubs are making efforts to raise the level of competition. Of course, there is always room for improvement, but my impression is that Montenegrin football is heading in the right direction," says Marko.

Outside of Montenegro, he played in Romania, Albania and Kosovo. As he pointed out, each country brought him some fond memories and something special.

Football was at its highest level in Romania.

"Every country I've played in has something special and brings back fond memories. In Romania I had the opportunity to experience football at the highest level, where the working conditions and infrastructure are truly phenomenal."

He had good results in Albania and Kosovo, and particularly highlighted his season in Laci.

"On the other hand, I have many beautiful moments and good results connected to Albania and Kosovo. I would especially like to highlight the period in Albania, where I had one of the best club seasons in the history of that club, which will certainly remain in my special memory."

He came to Petrovac with one goal - to help the team secure Europe. He succeeded in that, and now the paths of Marko Roganović and the "sky blues" are parting ways.

"Unfortunately, my journey in Petrovac has come to an end. When I arrived, the goal was to help the team and the club achieve a place in Europe, and I am happy that together we managed to achieve this great success. That is why I can move on proudly and with my head held high."

At the end of the conversation, he wished the people of Petrovac good luck, hoping that they would continue to achieve good results.

"I wish Petrovac the best of luck in the coming period and I believe that with a little luck they can go as far as possible and continue to achieve good results," concluded Marko Roganović.
