Pedro Poro signs five more years at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pedro Poro has signed a new "multi-year" contract, the English club announced today.

Tottenham did not provide details of the contract they signed with the 26-year-old Spanish right-back in their statement, but well-known insider Fabricio Romano reported that it is a five-year contract, with the option to extend the cooperation for another year.

"Securing Pedro's future was a high priority for us this summer. Over the past three and a half years, he has made huge progress and become one of the best full-backs in football. Pedro is at an age where he can provide leadership and experience, while still having room for further development. His character, work ethic and quality are exactly what we are looking for when building a team capable of competing at the highest level and we are delighted that he has decided to continue his journey with the club," Tottenham sporting director Johan Lange said, as reported by the club's website.

Poro arrived at Tottenham in January 2023 from Sporting Lisbon, and has since played a total of 152 games, scoring 13 goals and registering 26 assists for the English club.

The Spanish defender won the Europa League title with Tottenham in the 2024/25 season, as well as being selected in the competition's ideal team.

Poro has played a total of 18 matches for the Spanish national team and is part of his country's selection for this year's World Cup.
