German footballer Antonio Ridiger will remain at Real Madrid for another season, after today extending his contract with the Spanish club until June 2027.
Ridiger was at the end of the four-year contract he signed when he joined Madrid from Chelsea in 2022 and reportedly had offers to continue his career in Saudi Arabia.
The 33-year-old footballer won La Liga and the Champions League with Real in 2024. He struggled with injuries last season, making just 26 appearances in all competitions for Real.
Ridiger is currently with the German national team at the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico. He came off the bench in the second half of Germany's first match, a 7-1 win over Curacao.
