After Sutjeska, which suffered a defeat in the first round of Champions League qualifying, the third representative of Montenegro also lost in the first round of Conference League qualifying.
And the only one that was the host - Petrovac was defeated by the Lithuanian Žalgiris 3:1 in Podgorica, so after the first 90 minutes they were in a hopeless situation in the fight for a place in the second round.
The team from Petrovac started the game poorly, the guests struggled and took the lead in the 18th minute when Serbian striker Nikola Petković scored from the edge of the box.
It didn't take long to equalize, Petrovac got it in the 27th minute when Nemanja Carević scored with a great shot from about 20 meters.
By the end of the half, Petrovac believed they could turn things around, but they didn't ask much further questions.
Petković returned the lead to Žalgiris with his second goal, a masterful fifth after a shot by Sesplaukis, and the Montenegrin team had their only chance to equalize midway through the second half when the opponent almost scored an own goal (hit the crossbar).
As the end of the game approached, it was clear that Žalgiris was the better team, and they once again checked Marko Kordić.
Bilenkij did it after intercepting a desperate pass from Đorđe Fabris...
The second leg is in seven days in Vilnius.
