Aston Villa snatches Newcastle from Mzanmi

Aston Villa Football Club is one step away from signing Freiburg striker Johan Manzambi, British media reported today.

According to "Atletico", the Swiss international wants to continue his career at Aston Villa, which has therefore taken a leading role in negotiations over the transfer of the 20-year-old footballer.

Sky Sports previously reported that Newcastle had reached a verbal agreement with Freiburg for a transfer worth £49 million, but Manzambi has reportedly decided that a move to the Birmingham club is his priority.
