Goals, accolades, big competition: Aleksa Causevic now dreams of debuting for Buducnost

For young Buducnost player Aleksa Causevic, the past season was almost perfect – at only 15 years old, he played in a major competition for Montenegro, scored goals, and received individual awards...

He was the youngest member of our cadet (U17) team, which qualified for and played in the European Championship, and will also play in the World Cup in November - he also scored a goal in what turned out to be a decisive qualifying match against Norway in a 4:0 victory.

"It was a great experience for me and certainly one of the most beautiful moments in my career so far. I am proud that I had the opportunity to represent my country and that I was able to help the team. Even though I was the youngest, my teammates and the coaching staff showed great trust in me, which meant a lot to me," said Causevic.

In the Buducnost jersey at a major international tournament in Spain, he was the top scorer of the competition and led his team to second place, right behind the hosts Sevilla.

Great individual recognition also came at the "Miljan Miljanić" Memorial Tournament in Serbia, where the Montenegrin national team won first place, and he was named the best player.

And all this at the age of 15, he will turn 16 on August 30th.

When all is said and done, Causevic has gained the status of one of our most promising young players, and his talent has been noticed far beyond the borders of Montenegro.

He recently signed a contract with the renowned agency Unique Sports Group, which will take care of his development in the future. This is a reputable agency that represents, among others, English aces Anthony Gordon and Mark Gay, French national team player Maxence Lacroix, Hakan Calhanoglu (Turkey), Alexis Salemahers (Belgium), Harry Wilson (Wales)...

Causevic is, however, aware that talent is only one of the prerequisites for a successful career.

Currently, he says, he is only thinking about how to impose himself in the senior competition at Buducnost, and he has already, again as the youngest, been in the first team's preparations for the next season.

"Given that I am not even 16 years old yet, all my plans are related to my beloved club Budućnost. I expect to sign my first professional contract and make my debut for the first team during this season," said Causevic, who is currently in Zlatibor, at the camp of the Montenegrin cadet selection, as one of the leaders of the new generation, both because of the experience and talent he has.
