As expected, Red Star easily dealt with Larnaca in the first match of the second round of Champions League qualifying.
The Serbian champion celebrated their victory away from home against the Northern Irish champion, 4:0, and practically settled everything before the second leg in Belgrade in eight days.
The "red and white" put their rivals ahead in the 26th minute - Bruno Duarte scored from the penalty spot after one of the Larnaca defenders played with his hand in his own penalty area.
The question of the winner, and probably the traveler to the third round of qualifications for the elite competition, was resolved in the second half of the match. Osman Bukari excellently out-dribbled his rival in the 55th minute and crossed into the penalty area where Vasilije Kostov was ready.
Duarte scored again towards the end, assisted by Mohamed Abu Fani and Muhamed Cham.
The other ex-Yu representative that was on the field tonight, Dinamo Zagreb, was also a guest, but against an incomparably tougher rival - Tuna. The sensational Swiss champion from last season and the "blues" played out a 1:1 draw.
Thun took the lead in the 20th minute. After Fabio Fer's cross from the right, Brighton Labeau headed the ball in accurately.
However, Dinamo will not be traveling to Zagreb for the return leg (Tuesday, July 28th) with a deficit. Four minutes before the end of regular time, Miha Zajc scored with a precise shot from the edge of the penalty area.
