The Football Association of Montenegro has stood with many European associations that will not support Gianni Infantino in the elections for FIFA president next year.
It was announced from our "house of football" that the FSCG has withdrawn the letter of support previously given in favor of Infantino's candidacy for re-election in 2027.
The statement was signed by Dejan Savićević, president of the Federation, who is serving his second term as a member of the FIFA Council.
- I am writing to you on behalf of the Football Association of Montenegro, and also in my capacity as a member of the FIFA Council. Recent events within FIFA are extremely worrying and have shown a serious lack of communication and transparency, not only towards the members, who are the backbone of the organization, but also towards internal members, including the FIFA Council and the structures that should be the foundations of FIFA - stated Savićević.

- The proposals presented have revealed worrying vulnerabilities in terms of governance, not only at the political level, but also within the FIFA administration. Therefore, the Football Association of Montenegro has decided to withdraw its letter of support previously given in favor of Mr. Gianni Infantino's candidacy for re-election in 2027 - emphasized Savićević.
In this way, FSCG stood by UEFA and many of its members.
- The Football Association of Montenegro agrees with the opinion of other European national associations and UEFA and demands a thorough review of the actions of the FIFA leadership. We thank you for taking note of our official position - concluded Savicevic in the letter.
