Sutjeska has introduced a new coach - the Montenegrin champion will try to end its disastrous series of results with Denis Ćorić, an expert from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ćorić will make his debut on Saturday, against Jezera in Berane.
"He began his coaching career in Široki Brijeg, and then with Posušje he won entry into the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A year later he repeated the same success with the GOŠK team from Gabela," says the Sutjeska announcement on the official website.
Ćorić replaces Milorad Peković, who won the title, but was doomed by four European defeats and two more at the start of the new domestic league season.
"In 2024, Ćorić received the award for Coach of the Season in the Bosnia and Herzegovina Championship, after leading Posušje to fifth place in the table. This success recommended him for the Željezničar bench, with whom he won a place in Europe the following season," it is stated.
After parting ways with Pekovic, Sutjeska was in negotiations with Miodrag Dzudovic, but no agreement was reached.
"His last stop before arriving at the stadium near Bistrica was Al-Faisaly from Jordan, the club with which he won the Shield Cup. His first assistant Gradimir Crnogorac also arrived at the club with Denis Ćorić," the Nikšić-based club stated in introducing the new coach.
After the defeat to Otranto on Sunday (1:4), the seventh that Sutjeska has experienced in seven competitive matches this season, the Municipality of Nikšić, as the founder and sole owner of the club, issued a statement in which it was emphasized that "in the coming days, the entire management structure of the club will be changed", and that the owner's request in the future period will be "affirmation of players from the younger categories to the greatest extent possible".
It remains to be seen whether the hiring of Ćorić, a coach from abroad, changes anything in this announced concept for the future period.
