Manchester City's new signing Enzo Fernandes has said that joining the 10-time English champions has fulfilled his lifelong dream.
"I'm very happy to be here. I've always dreamed of being at a club of City's size. I'm grateful for the opportunity. This is a very emotional moment for me and my family, to take this step at the age of 25, in a football career that I've always dreamed of," Fernandes said, as reported by the club's website.
Fernandes moved from Chelsea to Manchester City on Tuesday night, in a transfer worth a total of £125 million.
The Argentine midfielder has signed a five-year contract with Manchester City.
"I'm very happy to be here and to be enjoying these first hours at the club. I can already see how big it is. Honestly, from the first day they believed in me and called me to tell me they wanted me to come to the club, I didn't hesitate for a moment. It's a club that has won a lot in recent years. A club that is writing football history and for me it's a big challenge," said Fernandes.
Fernandes stated that he wants to help his new club win as many trophies as possible.
"We will enjoy ourselves and win many trophies together. Manchester City must win every trophy it fights for. In every competition we participate in, we must fight and win, because the history of this club demands it," he said.
The Argentine said that he believes Manchester City have a very high-quality team this season and that he is looking forward to the direction the club is heading.
