Portuguese Carlos Queiroz has been reappointed as coach of the Ghana national football team, just two months after resigning following the team's elimination in the round of 16 of the World Cup.
"The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Carlos Queiroz to appoint him as the head coach of the Black Stars for the next phase of the national team programme," FIFA said in a statement.
Queiroz (73) initially took charge in April ahead of the World Cup and successfully guided Ghana through the group stage, where they beat Panama 1-0 and drew 0-0 with England.
Despite losing 2-1 to Croatia in their final group game, Ghana advanced to the knockout stage as one of the best third-placed teams, before being eliminated by Colombia 1-0.
Ghana returns to the field later this month in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where they will face Ivory Coast, Gambia and Somalia in Group C.
The Africa Cup of Nations in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will be played during June and July next year.
