The leaders of the Budućnost Football Club promptly dismissed coach Srđan Radonjić after a 2:0 defeat to Otranto in Ulcinj.
After six rounds played, the team from Podgorica is at the very bottom of the Meridianbet 1st Montenegrin Football League.
We transmit the announcement in its entirety:
"The Budućnost football club was defeated by Otrant-Olimpik in Ulcinj in the 6th round of the national championship with a score of 2:0, after which an emergency meeting of the club's Board of Directors was held. At the meeting, a decision was made to dismiss the head of the coaching staff, Srđan Radonjić, along with the members of his coaching staff. Our team has won only five points after six rounds played, which is why a change on the bench, at this moment, was inevitable," it is stated.
"FK Budućnost would like to thank former player and captain Srđan Radonjić and his coaching staff for their professional attitude, dedicated work and effort during their time at the club. However, in football, results are the main measure of success, and so far this season they have not been up to the level of ambitions, expectations and standards of FK Budućnost."
"The club will inform the public in due course about the next steps and decisions regarding the coaching staff."
