The Chinese Football Association plans to open 2025 football academies by 50 as part of an ambitious plan for the country to grow into a football superpower.
"It is a good way to find talent for the future. The progress of Chinese football is no longer just a dream," said Chinese Football Association Vice President Wang Deng Feng.
The plan to open 50 academies more than doubles the previous plan of the Chinese Federation, which was 20 football schools by 2020.
The Football Association of China plans that each school will train an average of 1.000 young players, which would fulfill the goal set in April last year that the country has 50 million football players.
