Raičević: Maybe it was time for us to lose against Vardar

After the second defeat in the main stage of the Champions League, this time against Vardar, the coach of Budućnost Dragan Adžić said that the game will serve him well for analysis.

It is clear, however, that he cannot be satisfied with the game, that his team can and must do much better.

"We need matches like this. We received quality material for analysis, especially after the release in the last 13 minutes. I expected that fatigue would be felt after the duel against Đero, which consumed us emotionally".

"I'm sorry that Đurđina Jauković felt bad before the match and couldn't give her maximum, which would have given us additional freshness and extended the rotation. By the way, the game in defense was again affected by the fact that Dragana Cvijić got two suspensions early on," Adžić pointed out.

Milena Raičević hit the net five times, and had several excellent assists, but that was not enough, as Budućnost "slept" the finish.

"Vardar defeated us for the first time in the Champions League and maybe it was time for that defeat to happen to us. We are not satisfied with the game. There were good moments both in defense and attack, but we could and had to do much better".

"We didn't deserve to win. We had a drop in the last ten minutes, perhaps fatigue is the result of such an edition, but we were definitely not concentrated for the most important part of the match", emphasized Milena Raičević.

Marta Žderić was one of the bright spots with 16 blocked shots, but she did not have adequate help from the defense in the end.

"We had drops in the game and fatigue was obvious. I don't know why it happened, and it shouldn't have happened to us. Vardar took advantage of that and won. There were many technical mistakes, both in attack and defense, but I think we will correct it and be stronger after this defeat," said the 25-year-old Croatian.
