Adžić: The quality of Đer is the reason for our fluctuations

The victory over the biggest rival satisfied the coach of Budućnost Dragan Adžić, but he himself is aware that his team can and must do much better than they played against Djerba.

"This was a phenomenal match. The coach on the other hand is great, and that was what we needed at this stage of the Champions League. The system and quality that Đer has demand the maximum from the team. Whenever it wasn't like that, there was a fall. Fortunately, the girls played hard, they didn't allow themselves to completely 'get out' of the match. They came back and we achieved a great victory", said the "blue" coach.

Adžić hopes that the two last champions of Europe will collide in Budapest.

"I would like us to play one more game with Djero this season, and that would mean that we are in the final four, which would make us achieve our goal. This Champions League is immeasurably stronger, and we have shown that we can play with everyone. We can certainly reduce the losses and maintain the maximum in both directions for a longer period of the game".

What is the reason for such oscillations?

"The quality of Djer. Very simple. If we manage to maintain the level with this squad, then we will be top. We are working to reduce the oscillations”.

Kristina Neagu was not even a shadow of the player who dominated the World Championship. Why?

"She gave her all at the World Cup, and she is the type of player who can hardly play eight or nine games in 15 days continuously. We knew that and we expect that by the end of the Champions League it will be the way we want it to be".

The defenders of Budućnosti had a lot of problems, which Adžić also admits.

"The defense of Djerba is phenomenal this season, it works well tactically and caused us a lot of problems. We have to work on that, the back line had problems throughout the match. We made a difference on defense and transition, and the game of the backs is a segment in which we can improve".

Marta Žderić was phenomenal, she saved 17 shots, and the zicer Nike Grot, which she stopped eight minutes before the end, practically decided the match. She wasn't nearly as good in the first part of the season...

"That's the path she had to go through. Marta works well with Vlatko Đonović and reaches a level that made Budućnost decide to make this her season. I believe he can do even better, because he has great potential. Ešraf Abdala will join in the next training session, so we will have even greater stability in goal, although Ljubica Nenezić is also slowly becoming a goalkeeper who can enter, as was the case in Ikast", concluded Adžić.

Đera coach Ambros Martin congratulated Budućnost on the victory and thanked Adžić for the "wonderful gesture" because he went to the fans of the Hungarian team and applauded them after the match.

"Future made a big difference at the start and it was difficult to come back. We succeeded once, but we couldn't the second time. Against such an experienced team it is almost impossible. In this match, the most important thing is not 1st place, victory or points, but the spirit of the team. We fought, we put up a very strong resistance", stressed the Spanish expert.
