Coach Željko Babić and the best player of the match for bronze at the European Championship in Poland, Domagoj Duvnjak, emphasized that they reached the medal, the first for Croatian handball after the bronze at the European Championship in 2012, by showing character.
"This medal is a miracle. A prophecy was fulfilled, I will not explain what kind. Thanks to all the players, they were inspired today, they all showed their heart and they deserve a lot because they won a medal. I am happy because the Croatian people are happy, because they rejoice in victories. I don't need fame," said Babić, who debuted at major competitions with bronze.
Duvnjak scored six goals, handed out seven assists and scored seven points in the victory over Norway (31:24), but he emphasized team play as the decisive factor.
"Congratulations to the boys for the character they showed. It is difficult to get a medal after losing in the semi-finals. "It doesn't matter if they call us bronze," said the 27-year-old Kila guard.
