Adžić: The worm of insecurity was felt in the preparation of the match

Herning - Ever since Dragan Adžić was the coach, Montenegro rarely conceded many goals. But now, in two related matches, the net shook 28 times - in a friendly match with Poland (28:26) and yesterday with Serbia (28:28).

It is obvious that no way was found to compensate for the absence of the most important link in the defense, Anđela Bulatović, the once impenetrable rampart is now full of holes. They must be patched or all objectives will be thrown into question.

"In the preparation for Serbia, the girls felt insecure. I struggled with it, talked to them individually, but obviously we couldn't beat it. It turned out that the worm of insecurity was with the girls and it showed in the first 15 minutes. It's all my responsibility. Serbia did not surprise us, they played inspired and relaxed, and we were very bad in defense the whole time. The attack was fantastic, God willing we can keep it at this level", said Adžić.

Will you be looking for new individual solutions in defense, because some players were not up to par?

"They tried everything, but none felt right. A very important period awaits us until the next game, all this is on a psychological basis. As soon as someone in the defense is not feeling well, the attacker has an advantage. We were blessed by the fact that no one played against us, 28 goals conceded is an incredible number for Montenegro and it must not be repeated".

The match seemed to be decided when you took a 24:20 lead. What was the cause of the drop in attack?

"One of the most upbeat in the attack in the back positions was Marija Jovanović and her exit had an impact on that. We didn't have a good player with Katarina Bulatović and Milena Raičević, neither Đurđina Jauković nor Jelena Despotović felt their best. Serbia used that moment wisely and put pressure on Kaća and Milena. That is the reason, but both Đina and Jelena need to feel better, although that is also the coach's responsibility".

You had the last attack with a higher player, it seems that the ideal solution was not chosen?

"An ideal goal chance was created for Katarina. She didn't score a goal, I have no complaints about that."

How against Japan?

"We got the material of some recent matches and we will watch the match with Denmark. We know how it should be against them and I believe that we will use the information we have better than in the match with Serbia", concluded Adžić.

The coach of Serbia Saša Bošković was jubilant after the match, because his team took a point against the "lionesses" for the first time without the four superstars who tried to replace him.

"I am very pleased with how my team played. We showed that we can do a lot when we play as a team. In the early stages, we were without an important player, Jovana Stoiljković, but despite that, we made progress in this match as well. The first 15 minutes were very good. Montenegro has an excellent team, led by the great expert Dragan Adžić, and came here with the greatest ambitions. But we also came to qualify for the Olympic Games and we showed that we deserve to play in that tournament," Bošković emphasized.
