After a 25-day vacation, Duško Milić did a roll call, did a short training session with the Lovcen handball players, and today the real preparations for the second part of the season begin.
The team that recorded all eight victories in the First League will seek the title in the remaining 10 games without the Montenegrin representative Mirko Radović, the new player of Eurofarm Rabotnik from Bitol, and Miodrag Stanojević, who had surgery on the anterior cruciate ligaments. However, this does not change the ambitions of the experienced coach.
- It is normal that we will miss Mirko, and not a little. If it was any other player than right back, it would be easier to make up for his absence. But that's sport, I wish him all the best. He did a decent first part of the season, and he got a contract he couldn't refuse. Now let the other guys fight for that place, and there is no change in ambition either. I didn't have any request from the management when I arrived, but it's normal for me that Lovćen goes for the title and the Cup. I said that when I came, even though the team was completely different than last season - Milić is clear.
Cetinje have a maximum of 16 points, three more than Komovo, six from Partizan, seven from Jedinstva...
- I want us to enter the Mini League with as many points as possible. My goal is to win in these four rounds of the regular season, in order to start the Mini League with maximum performance. I'm not thinking about taking the title with all the victories, I'm not interested in chasing it, but it would be good if we entered the Mini League with all 12 points, because it would be easier for us and we would have the right to a setback. Whatever happens, we will fight to the end to fulfill the goal.
At the "Croatia Cup", the jersey of Montenegro was worn by four players from Lovcen - Radović, Vuko Borilović, Slobodan Bulajić and 18-year-old pivot Luka Vujović.
- Everyone likes to win a title or a Cup, but I took a lot of trophies and I prefer to help young players grow. At the last gathering of the national team, Lovćen was represented by Radović, who is a regular, Borilović, Bulajić and Luka Vujović, an 18-year-old kid. He took the chance, is doing great work and is fighting for himself. Lovćen has an obligation to go for trophies, but also to create players. I have to help those children to start playing for the first team and later for the national team - notes Milić.
Vujović wasn't the only one who took advantage of younger players.
- Aleksandar Mrvaljević appeared suddenly. He is not yet 18 years old and is our first left winger. They got a chance and stayed younger, they used it in the right way and I'm sure that with work and time they will emerge. Real wealth is creating players for your club and national team, not buying them - concluded the coach of Cetinje.
The players from Cetinje will train in their hall until January 31, when they go to Vrnjačka Banja, where Milić left a deep mark when he was the champion of Serbia with the handball players from that place. They will play three friendly matches there, and they will continue the championship on February 23, away in Budva.
