Petrović and Radičević ready for the derby

The team that makes fewer mistakes in Sunday's handball duel between Vardar and Budućnost will win, according to the right wings of the Montenegrin and Macedonian champions, Radmila Petrović and Jovanka Radičević.

Vardar and Budućnost will play in Skopje on Sunday in the fifth round of Group B of the Champions League.

The first mutual duel in the Morača hall went to the team from Podgorica 23:17. Last season, Budućnost and Vardar were rivals in the semi-finals of the final tournament of the Champions League, in which the Montenegrin champion won 22:20.

Petrović said that she expects a difficult match in Skopje, much more difficult than the first one in Podgorica.

"Vardar is a very high-quality opponent and it is never easy to play with them, especially on their field. It is obvious that they are improving their form and that they are playing better and better from game to game. Of course, we are going to Skopje to give our best and do our best to secure first place in the group," Petrović said in an interview on the official website of the European Handball Federation.

She said that both teams are now in much better shape than at the start of the Champions League.

"The match will certainly be completely different. "The key to victory is always good defense and the team that gives the maximum will surely take two points," Petrović said.

Radičević expects a much better game from Vardar than in the first game.

"We are preparing for Buducnost, they say this is the derby of our group, so I really expect good handball, between two teams of good character and quality. "Buducnost plays very well, it has shown that in the past four games, so I expect an uncertain battle for 60 minutes," Radičević said.

She believes that whoever makes fewer mistakes and is more patient will win.

"Given that both of us are in better shape, I expect a better game, a good defense and a wiser and more coordinated attack," Radičević said.

She wished her former teammate from Budućnost to be the best in Sunday's defeat of Budućnost.

Radmila Petrović said that her teammate from the national team is a very good and complete player.

"I have only words of praise for her. When we play against her team, she always makes us hard, so I would ask her to be nice on Sunday," Petrović added.
