The question of the last participant of the 2nd round of the EHF Cup will be resolved in Ranana, Israel, where the handball players from Lovcen will try to knock out Maccabi from Tel Aviv. According to established custom, the people of Cetinje will play far away from Cetinje due to cost reduction for both matches.
Tonight at 19:20 our time (XNUMX:XNUMX local time) there will be guests, and in tomorrow's rematch, at the same time, for the fourth year in a row, there will only be formal hosts...
"Certainly, our work will be difficult, because we are guests in both games. However, we expect a good game and will do everything to advance to the next round. This team is still in the training phase, but the two games in the SEHA league meant a lot to us, and you can see that we have progressed," Danijel Vukićević told "Vijesti".
The role of the favorites, however, was left to the Israelis. The team includes six players who competed against the Montenegrin national team in the European Championship qualifiers (Gil Pomeranc, Omer Davda, Dan Natan, Eldar Šikloši, Tomer Šimoni and Werner Stridom), as well as Serbian internationals Bojan Butulija and Novak Bošković.
The problem is that Kasim Kamenica and his chosen ones have not watched any footage of Maccabi.
"Maccabi is a slight favorite, mostly because it is the host in both matches. There are a few internationals and Israeli national team members, but we didn't watch them. We don't have enough accurate data, but I think they play a 6-0 defense. Regardless, we prepared to give the maximum, and we are going for victories in both games".
Vukićević, who previously wore the jerseys of Rudar, Budućnosti and Sloga Doboj, is aware that Lovćen is still far from the real game, because there are many new handball players.
"The fact is that we are outplayed. All the defenders have been changed, and it is known that that line is difficult to play. This team is younger and more inexperienced than the one from last year, but we certainly have great potential. With a coach like Kamenica, the quality will come to the fore when we fully play together", concluded the 22-year-old Pljevljak.
If they eliminate Maccabi, Cetinje would play Macedonian Zomimak from Strumica in the 2nd round.
