The women's junior handball team of Montenegro was defeated today in Lom by Italy 31:24 (16:7), in the match of the third round of the qualifying tournament for placement in the European Championship in Denmark.
With that defeat, the third in the tournament, the Montenegrin juniors ended their performance in last, fourth place without winning a point.
Sandra Kolaković's team lost to France (24:15) at the start of the tournament, and Portugal 30:23 (15:11) yesterday.
The most effective player in the Montenegrin selection in today's match was Sandra Rakočević with six, while Itana Grbić scored less goals.
Beatrice Gera and Irene Fantoni were the best in the Italian selection, which achieved its first victory today, with seven goals each.
Placement to the championship, which will be played in Denmark from August 1 to 11, was won by France and Portugal from the tournament in Lom.
