"First of all, we are satisfied that we fulfilled the task, but we have to respect our quality and finish the championship in the best way. Also, there is a special rivalry and a special attitude of Montenegrin players towards the match with Serbia. I don't feel them, but I want a victory, which would bring Montenegro the best placement at the World Championships", said coach Per Johanson.
Serbia surprised in Japan, few expected that it would come so far.
"They have a great tournament, they showed great character, as did we. They played against strong teams, they are in excellent shape, but we are also ready. I expect a great game," said Johansson.
The Swede regrets the missed opportunity in the fight for the semi-finals, especially the loss to Spain in the last second.
"We struggled a lot, but also showed strength and character. It's a pity, we were robbed in the match against Spain, Cabral Barbosa made a foul in the attack, we didn't deserve the defeat, but the semi-finals. But we were lucky in other matches, that's how it is in sports," said Johanson.
There is still a long way to go before the Olympics, but...
"We started our journey two years ago from Bar, now we have shortened it. We will know quickly who we will play with in the qualifiers, but whoever we play with, our chance is 50 percent. I think we are in a good situation," said Johansson.
