The women's handball team of Montenegro fulfilled its goal at the World Championship by qualifying for the Olympic Games, but wants to end the performance with a victory against Serbia, said left winger Majda Mehmedović.
Montenegro and Serbia will play at three hours and 30 minutes past midnight in the match for the fifth place in the championship.
Mehmedović pointed out that she still regrets the point against Spain, stating that maybe if they had avoided defeat, everything would have been different.
"I can't say that I'm not satisfied with the matches in the championship. There are still matches with Serbia, being fifth or sixth may not matter that much, but that match means to us that we will fight from the first to the last minute," said Mehmedović.
She reminded that Montenegro has a positive score in matches with Serbia.
"These are the girls that we probably know best. They are playing well in this championship and we don't expect an easy match. They beat a lot of quality teams in Japan, so it will be a battle for the whole 60 minutes," said Mehmedović.
Fifth and sixth place from the World Championship will bring two European national teams to the qualifying tournament.
"Honestly, I am not afraid of anyone, whoever comes, we will prepare them well and do our best to be at the Olympic Games again," said Mehmedović.
Montenegrin women's handball players in the qualification for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, depending on the final placement at the WC, will play in the second or third tournament.
The bronze medalists and sixth-place finishers from the WC, as well as China, the second-place finisher from the Asian qualification tournament, will play in the tournament.
The last participant will be another European selection - Sweden or Hungary.
If the Swedish selection loses to Germany in the match for seventh place in Japan, they would request a visa for the Olympic Games as the sixth-placed team from the European Championship (EP).
In the case of Sweden's victory, Hungary, which was seventh at the EP in France, would have a chance to reach Tokyo.
In the tournament, three selections will play that won fourth and fifth place at the World Cup, Romania as the fourth-placed from the EP and North Korea, which was third at the Asian qualifiers.
The qualifying tournaments will be played in March, and the hosts will be determined later.
The two best selections from all three tournaments will qualify for the Olympic Games.
