Croatian handball players made a big turnaround against Germany 25:24 and by winning the derby of the second round of Group 1 in the second phase of the European Championship, they qualified for the semi-finals.
The victory of Croatia also led the selection of Spain to the semi-finals.
Croatia and Spain have the maximum score (3-0), two more wins than Germany, Austria and Belarus.
The "Cowboys" lost throughout the entire match, except at the beginning (1:0, 2:1), and on several occasions had a five-goal deficit (in the 37th minute it was 17:12 for the Germans), and in the dramatic finish, with Igor Karačić's goal a minute and a half before the end, they took the lead 25:24, then defended the last attack.
Karačić with seven goals and Domagoj Duvnjak with five goals led Lina Červar's team to a great triumph, and the hero was also Marin Šego, who saved Kolbacher's shot 13 seconds before the end.
Germany was not helped by the excellent game of goalkeeper Andreas Wolf, who had 13 saves.
