The women's handball team of Montenegro did not celebrate at the start of the Golden League - the "lionesses" were defeated by France 10:29 in their first match after 13 months.
Montenegro opened the duel in Horsens excellently and after three minimal leads (1:0, 2:1, 3:2), in the 10th minute they got two goals extra (4:2), after Mehmedović scored.
That turned out to be all from Per Johansson's side in the first half as there was only France on the pitch until the big break.
Too many mistakes in the attack, two missed sevens and easy goals from counterattacks scored by the European champion had a big minus after the first half.
From the 10th minute to the end of the first half, Montenegro scored only one field goal, and that was 30 seconds before the end, when it hit Mugoš's winger from the position of a defender.
In the second half, our national team reduced the deficit to a single-digit number of goals only once (20:11), after a series of three tied goals in which, in addition to Jauković, Premović scored twice.
Even for 15 minutes, our handball players could not score, after opening the match well, and at halftime it was minus nine - 15:6.
Mehmedović, Premović and Jauković were the most effective in Pero Johansson's weakened team - they scored four times each, and besides them only Mugoš found the back of the net.
The next rival in Horsens is Denmark on Saturday, on Sunday there is a duel with Norway.
