The Czech national team was prevented from playing at the World Handball Championship due to the large number of cases of the coronavirus.
Instead of the Czechs, the selection of North Macedonia will go to the Handball World Cup in Egypt, announced the IHF.
The championship starts on Wednesday in Egypt.
The Macedonians, who were the first substitute on the list of the World Handball Federation when awarding special invitations, will be in a group with Sweden, Egypt and Chile.
Montenegro was fourth on that list.
The Czechs, therefore, were relegated, because they could not assemble a team, but there are problems in other selections as well.
Thus, for example, seven Cape Verde players are in isolation, as many as 18 American players are in quarantine, and it is uncertain what will happen to the Brazilians, who have one player infected, as well as four members of the coaching staff.
