Handball representative of Montenegro, Marko Lasica, apologized to the Macedonian public for the gesture he made after the match at the European Championship.
Lasica spat at the fans of the North Macedonia national team last night, after the end of the game, which our national team won 28:24.
"I want to apologize to the Macedonian public and explain the situation. The whole match I was pelted with coins and spat on, and after the match a so-called fan of the Macedonian national team spat when I was near him. I retaliated and made a mistake and that's why I apologize.
I highly appreciate the Macedonian audience, its commitment to the national team and clubs. But these individuals who behave unworthy are not fans. Last night, Vujović was also hit with a bottle from the stands. However, my reaction is also reprehensible and I apologize for my move," Lasica said.
