Weasel punished for the incident: Behavior that damages the image of handball

The Disciplinary Commission of the European Handball Federation punished Marko Lasica for the incident after the match with North Macedonia.

Lasica was fined - 5.000 euros, with 2.000 euros being "conditional" for a period of two years.

"After the match, the EHF supervisor reported that the Montenegrin national team member Marko Lasica spat at the fans of North Macedonia.

The Disciplinary Commission examined and evaluated the available reports, and on the video of the incident, it can be seen that the player went towards the fans of North Macedonia and spat at them, which was a reaction to the insults.

In its decision, the Commission states that the gesture, and thus the attitude shown, is in contradiction with the basic obligation of the participating delegations to promote the spirit of sportsmanship.

In addition, the Commission reminded her that such behavior damages the image of handball and will not be tolerated.

The player was fined 5.000 euros. The fine of 2.000 euros is suspended conditionally for two years," the EHF said.
