Montenegrin handball players are moving from Debrecen to Budapest, after the victory over Slovenia in last night's dramatic match and placement among the 12 best European selections.
"Lions" are still waiting for the group to be completed in the second phase, the lineup will be known tonight, when the matches Iceland - Hungary and Holland - Portugal will be played, and they know two rivals - France and Croatia, with whom they will open the new round on Thursday.
The "Cowboys" came with a changed and rejuvenated team, they lost to the French, beat Serbia and from the second position won a place further on.
For the legendary Croatian coach Lin Červar, the favorites are against Montenegro.
"Now the second round starts and it's a completely different story. Montenegro is our first rival. They are good, they have an excellent goalkeeper, they are characterful and talented in handball, but I still think that we are the favorites in that match. We have more quality and much more experience of playing such matches", wrote Červar in the column for Index.
He believes that Croatian handball has a great future,
"After the bad result in Egypt (at the World Championship) last year, many people predicted our decline, but don't worry, we will return to the top of world handball very quickly, only if we trust the young people more, work with them and give them a real chance. This tournament showed what our path should be," Cervar said.
