The French club announced that the Dane is fortunately out of danger.
Hansen will be out of action for four to six months because the disease will be treated with medications that are not compatible with high-level contact sports, according to the announcement.
Hansen is one of the best players of all time, winner of Olympic gold, double world champion, European champion with the Danish team.
