The Serbian national handball team qualified for the 2023 World Championship, as it defeated the Slovenian team today in Kragujevac with 23:20 (10:8), in the rematch of the play-off.
Three days ago, in the first match played in Celje, Serbia won 34:31.
The most effective players in Serbia were Nemanja Ilić and Bogdan Radivojević with four goals each, while Jovica Nikolić, Mijajlo Marsenić and Petar Đorđić scored three each.
Slovenia was led by Dean Bombač with six goals, four by Blaž Janc and three by Darko Cingesar.
Croatian handball players justified their role as favorites and with two convincing victories against Finland, they qualified for the championship, which will be held from January 11 to 29, 2023 in Sweden and Poland.
Three days ago, Croatia won away from home (34:21) and virtually qualified for the World Cup, while Varaždin completed the formalities and confirmed their place in the 36th consecutive World Handball Championship with 22:15.
"Cowboys" were led to the celebration by Marino Marić with seven goals, Filip Glavaš with six, and Marin Jelinić with four goals.
